Dentures

Better fitting, better looking… modern dentures from a cosmetic dentist

Dentures are a simple way of replacing a few or many teeth. If you’ve lost a lot of teeth, dentures may be the logical choice to replace them. They are a simple solution if one or many teeth have been lost and we will discuss the different types available with you. There’s no need to feel daunted if you need to be fitted with dentures – we will go that extra mile to ensure a comfortable, accurate fit and an exceptionally natural appearance.

Quite apart from the difference to your appearance, replacing lost teeth is important for your health

A full denture provides support for cheeks and lips – this not only can make you look younger, it also helps you to eat and speak more easily. Properly fitted dentures will also replace gaps which may otherwise trap food, which could promote tooth decay or gum disease.

Types of dentures

  • Complete or full dentures – replace all of the natural teeth in the upper or lower jaws
  • Partial dentures – fill the spaces where teeth have been lost. They can be attached to your natural teeth with metal clasps or special devices called precision attachments.

Whichever type of dentures you may need the teeth are normally made from acrylic and we will make sure that they are a close match to your natural teeth. From the first impression to final fitting you can rest assured that the whole process will go smoothly and quickly.

Dental implants may offer an alternative to dentures or may be used to help retain a denture, enabling the denture to be more secure and possibly smaller. This is particularly useful when the teeth have been lost for some times and the gums have shrunk, especially in the lower jaw. We would be happy to discuss this with you.
