☀️ Summer Smiles

Summer has been in full swing at the practice! ☀️🍦

From sunny days and holidays to plenty of reasons to smile, we’ve been enjoying the season just as much as our patients.

Here are a few snapshots from our summer — because behind the dental chairs, we’re a team who love to have a little fun too! 💛 We hope you’ve all been enjoying the sunshine and making plenty of memories along the way.

🪥 A Little Reminder for Your Toothbrush

When was the last time you changed your toothbrush head?

It’s one of those little jobs that’s very easy to forget! We recommend changing your electric toothbrush head every 3 months, or sooner if the bristles are looking worn or splayed.

And if you use an electric toothbrush, don’t forget to keep it charged too — there’s nothing worse than reaching for it at bedtime and finding it has given up before you have!

A fresh brush head and a fully charged toothbrush means you’re ready to keep your smile clean and healthy every day.

Consider this your friendly reminder… when did you last change yours?🦷

🎓 Good Luck, Amna!

We’re saying a very fond farewell to our lovely dental nurse, Amna, as she heads off to university to study Dental Hygiene & Therapy! 🦷🎓

Amna has been such a valued part of our team and will be very much missed by us all. It’s been wonderful watching her grow and develop, and we couldn’t be more excited to see where this next chapter takes her.

We’re so proud of you, Amna, and wish you the very best of luck at university! We know you’re going to be amazing. ✨

Don’t be a stranger — and remember, you’ll always be part of the Paul Lowe Dentistry family! 🦷🤍

Good luck, Amna! We’ll miss you!❤️

☕ Autumn Drinks & Your Teeth

As the evenings get cooler, there’s nothing quite like settling down with a warm cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate. But with our favourite autumn drinks often comes a little extra sugar — and, for some drinks, the potential for staining too.

So, what’s the best choice for your smile?

☕ Tea & coffee

Our daily favourites can contribute to surface staining over time. Adding sugar also means your teeth are exposed to more sugar, so try to keep it to a minimum where you can.

🍫 Hot chocolate

A cosy autumn treat, but many hot chocolates contain more sugar than you might expect. Enjoying one occasionally is absolutely fine — it’s having sugary drinks frequently throughout the day that can be more problematic for your teeth.

🍁 Seasonal favourites

Pumpkin-spiced lattes and other autumn drinks can be surprisingly sweet, particularly when flavoured syrups, whipped cream or toppings are added. Why not check what’s actually in your favourite order next time?

💧 And don’t forget water!

Water is still the best drink for your teeth. Having some alongside your favourite hot drink can help keep your mouth hydrated and wash away some of the residue.

Our autumn rule? You don’t have to give up the drinks you love. Enjoy them, be mindful of how often you’re having them, and keep your everyday drinks as tooth-friendly as possible.
