Iain is a highly skilled dentist, having a wealth of experience in general dental practice and a gentle and caring approach to treating his patients. He is an excellent communicator, placing great importance on ensuring that he clearly explains the care options available to his patients and listening to their views.
Iain qualified as a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Birmingham in 2000, having excelled on the course and winning several prizes during his time as an undergraduate.
He worked in general practice in Harborne for 12 years before moving to divide his time practices in Barnt Green and Halesowen.
In 2002, whilst continuing to work as a general dental practitioner, he took up a position as a part-time lecturer for the School of Dentistry within the University of Birmingham; he was subsequently promoted to “Head of Firm”, a post he has held for almost a decade. He is responsible for teaching undergraduate students in restorative dentistry and general clinical practice.
Iain ensures he is always up to date with the latest advances and techniques in dentistry. He has undertaken extensive postgraduate study and has completed a Masters degree in Advanced General Dental Practice at Birmingham University. During this course he was awarded the prize for Periodontology (gum disease).
He has served on the Birmingham Local Committee.
Outside dentistry he is a keen classical musician and enjoys time with his family.
Iain’s personality, skill and passion for dentistry will be a great asset for the Practice and we welcome him to the team.
